When I was about 25, I came across a concept that connected the amount of power and attention you had in present time being in direct correlation to your ability, in the past, to complete cycles of action.
Now when you think about it when we are surrounded by mess (lots of unfinished cycles) you can feel confused and foggy in your thoughts. When surrounded by order and neatness your thinking naturally becomes clearer. (competed cycles = things put away).
I tested this theory out and made a list of every incomplete cycle I could think of this lifetime and then proceeded to complete whatever was still possible to complete. This had an amazing effect on me as it felt like I was reclaiming parts of myself, my power, from the past, back into the present moment.
I remember one incident that really stood out. Now when I was around 18 years of age, I was riding motor bikes. I had ridden to Sydney on my Motor Guzzi 850cc to watch the Bathurst motorcycle races and then travelled into Sydney city to do some site seeing. Now while doing this I got two parking tickets, which I never paid. Back then there were no computers or internet and because it was interstate no one ever contacted me regarding paying them.
Now funnily enough however wild I was back then; I kept these two tickets just in case on a sub conscious level I decided I would pay them. When I decided to do this experiment of completing my cycles of action, I found these two parking tickets some 7 years later. Now I was nervous about doing this because I thought I might get in trouble for leaving it so long and heaven forbid they decided to charge me interest on these. I decided to risk it and sent them off with a check attached.
What followed blew me away. I had no idea how much this had weighed on my shoulders and the relief and clarity that I experienced by paying for these was amazing.
I then realised that every cycle of action you leave half done or done badly you leave some of your energy and focus on which means there is that much less of “you”, your power, in present time.
I then realized that with every lie you tell, you must remember, or you get caught out. So,with each lie you leave a piece of yourself in the past.
So, to be successful in life you need to be able to focus, think, solve problems and act effectively. Living a life of being the best you can be, following through, doing a good job, finishing your cycles, doing the right thing, not doing anything you feel you need to hide i.e. no need to lie the more power and focus you have in present time= the more successful you will l be.
Are you seeing a theme with all these blogs?
I decided quite a while ago, that I was not even going to tell a white/socially acceptable lie. This was one of the best decisions I have ever made. It forced me to only do those things that I would not need to hide from anyone. My life became completely transparent and it was so freeing. I made myself accountable and was very conscious of only agreeing to things that I knew I would do. Avoiding having to give socially acceptable excuses, when I would commit to something, and not follow through. I became super ethical and man the benefits far outweigh the initial effort it took to change my operating basis.
When we live in a world where our leaders lie, and TV soap operas and reality shows make it look acceptable to lie and manipulate others, it can lower our standards. The importance of have good character and being honourable can get lost. It is left to each of us, to set our own standards, and make it a better world by example. It’s a win win.
